To ensure a great print product, it's important to prepare your document properly. Here are some important guidelines and tips to help you achieve high-quality prints:
File set up and sizes
- Our magazines are available in both standard sizes (such as A4 or Letter), and in dynamic sizes.
Size | Orientation | Dimensions (mm/in) |
A5 | Landscape | 148 x 210 mm / 5.8 x 8.3 in |
A5 | Portrait | 210 x 148 mm / 8.3 x 5.8 in |
A4 | Landscape | 210 x 297 mm / 8.3 x 11.7 in |
A4 | Portrait | 297 x 210 mm / 11.7 x 8.3 in |
Letter | Landscape | 216 x 280 mm / 8.5 x 11.0 in |
Letter | Portrait | 280 x 216 mm / 11.0 x 8.5 in |
- The size of the non-standard magazines depends on the aspect ratio of the PDF (width รท height).
- We read the first page to determine the aspect ratio and display matching product sizes.
- The aspect ratio must be between 0.34 and 1.54
- Dynamic Format Ranges: Each product has a minimum and maximum width and height. You can find these ranges in the table above.
- Content will never be cut or distorted; we only adjust the size downward unless your file is smaller than our smallest product.
- Use a resolution of 300dpi.
- Set the color profile to RGB.
Spine
The Spine feature is only available to users with a Peecho Merchant account. Upload & Order does not support this feature.
We use an automated system to calculate the spine size of our layflat books.
The calculation is based on:
- The number of pages in your PDF
- The type of paper used
- The destination country of your order (depending on the destination, different facilities can be selected)
Due to this automated process, specific spine size information is not available in this article.
For more information, please access How do I add the spine?
Cover and content
- Our magazines range from 18-500 pages. Your magazine has to contain an even number of pages.
- Save your print file as one PDF document containing both the cover and content as single pages.
- Do not add bleed or cut marks, as our system will automatically generate these.
- Please leave a minimum margin of 10 mm on all sides of both the cover and content pages.
Layout
The following diagram illustrates how your content will appear on your hardcover book once printed. The numbered text below corresponds to the numbers displayed on the image. Please note that this diagram is for illustrative purposes only.
2. Inside of front cover: page two of your PDF, which will appear on the left-hand side.
3. Page two of your PDF: It will appear on the right-hand side of the book.
4. This is page three of your PDF.
5. This is page four of your PDF.
6. This is page six of your PDF.
7. Inside of back cover will be the second-to-last page of your PDF.
8. Back cover: The last page of your PDF will become the back cover of your book.
Saving your PDF
We recommend exporting your file with a PDF / X-4 Profile (coated FOGRA 39) check on your file. Please ensure that all fonts are embedded and any transparencies are flattened.
